Conservation Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to serve as the Southeast Regional Manager for the Washington State Conservation Commission. This role will play a vital part in our mission to support and coordinate conservation efforts across the state.

About the Role

The Southeast Regional Manager will be responsible for providing guidance and support to conservation districts within the region, helping them create and implement policies and programs that enhance their impact on natural resources. This will involve working closely with district supervisors, facilitating board member development, and connecting them with relevant resources and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic guidance to conservation districts on planning, budgeting, personnel management, and interagency coordination.
  • Field Audits: Conduct field audits of district programs to ensure they meet regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Program Implementation: Assist with the implementation and operation of agency programs, including grants management, natural resource investments, engineering, and regional conservation partnerships.
  • Community Engagement: Foster effective working relationships with community members, clients, and partner agencies to promote resource conservation activities.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrate leadership skills, delegate tasks effectively, and collaborate with team members to achieve shared goals.

Requirements

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and other relevant software applications.
  • Time Management: Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel approximately quarterly within the region, with occasional overnight stays outside the area.
  • Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in an agricultural or natural resource-related field and two years of professional experience in conservation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range of $60,000-$80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
