PT Instructor for Disability Support

Foothill De Anza Community College District is seeking a qualified instructor to teach courses in the Tools for Transition and Work (TTW) Program. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of disability support and a passion for teaching students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Job Search Skills, Career Resources, Employment Issues, ADA and the Law, Job Training and Internship, Basic Computer Skills, Personal Development, and other vocational and educational classes for students with disabilities.
- Evaluate and assess student work, and submit grades in a timely manner.
- Participate in the assessment of their performance, including administrative and student evaluations.
The successful candidate will work in an indoor, office environment and will be required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. They will also be required to lift and carry objects up to 20 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications- A Master's degree or equivalent foreign degree in disability, special education, educational psychology, or rehabilitation counseling.
- 15 semester units or 22.5 quarter units of upper division or graduate study in the area of disability, including learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, deaf and hearing impaired, physical disabilities, or adapted computer technology.
- Two years of teaching experience in an educational or vocational setting with persons with disabilities.
- Experience working with assistive technology such as text-to-speech, screen readers, and voice recognition.
- Knowledgeable in the use and implementation of universal design in the classroom.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.
The salary range for this position is based on the applicant's verified education and experience.
