About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Underground Transmission Line Engineer, where you will play a key role in designing and developing underground transmission lines for voltages up to 500kV.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design underground transmission lines, including routing, duct bank configurations, manhole placement, and electrical principles.
  • Support project teams in developing cost analyses, design criteria, and routing challenges for underground transmission lines.
  • Develop physical designs, including duct bank layouts, trenchless designs, and cable pulling calculations.
  • Support cable selection studies, determine bonding schemes, and perform ampacity calculations.
  • Develop riser structure configurations and structural loading.
  • Develop specifications for cable procurement, duct bank installation, and general construction specifications.
  • Coordinate with other engineers, designers, and drafters.
Requirements
  • BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • Experience with cable tensioning calculations and/or software.
  • 2 or more years of experience on underground transmission projects.
  • Experience with XLPE cable design.
  • Preparation of specifications for installation and procurement of underground transmission line materials and components.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CYMCAP.
  • Experience with High Pressure Gas Filled or High-Pressured Fluid Filled pipe type cable systems and associated equipment.
  • Experience with underground distribution or low voltage cable systems.
