Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse to join our team at SSM Health. As a Nurse in our Long Term Care department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled nursing care to residents, administering medications and treatments according to established care plans and federal and state regulations.
  • Lead and direct ancillary staff, ensuring coordination of care and maintaining accurate inventory of medications.
  • Monitor residents for medication side effects and ensure accurate distribution of medications.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, guardians, and family members, providing teaching and training as needed.
  • Ensure preventative measures are in place, including skin checks, turning/repositioning schedules, and restraint alternatives.
  • Provide quality end-of-life care, using comfort baskets to meet resident and family needs.
  • Perform point-of-care testing and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
  • Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting/moving of patients.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Occasional driving.
  • Rare crawling and running.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Work Location or Compact Multi-State License.
