About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse to join our team at SSM Health. As a skilled nursing care provider, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care to our residents in a long-term care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Quality Patient Care
    • Deliver skilled nursing care to residents according to established care plans and in compliance with federal and state regulations.
    • Administer medications and treatments according to standards of care and maintain competency in all required nursing skills.
  • Lead and Guide Ancillary Staff
    • Provide direction to certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and monitor the workflow of the unit to ensure coordination of care.
    • Use the nursing process for assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Ensure Medication Management
    • Maintain accurate inventory of medications at the beginning and end of each shift.
    • Ensure accurate distribution of medications to all residents according to the 5 rights.
    • Monitor for medication side effects and ensure that medications are provided in a manner consistent with manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Communicate Effectively
    • Communicate with residents, guardians, and family members on the current condition and needs of residents in accordance with regulations and standards of practice.
    • Provide teaching and training to residents and families as needed.
  • Ensure Quality End-of-Life Care
    • Provide and ensure quality end-of-life care, including using comfort baskets to meet resident and family needs.
    • Treat pain and restlessness, and offer family courtesy meal trays and other amenities.
  • Work in a Safe Manner
    • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Experience
    • No experience required.
  • Licenses/Certifications
    • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
    • Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Work Location or Compact Multi-State License.
