Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team at Kept Companies, the largest self-performing commercial cleaning and maintenance company in the nation. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service to our customers, ensuring their trash, linen, and recycling chutes are operating properly and meeting fire code standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of customer chutes to identify areas for repair and provide quotes for necessary work.
  • Utilize technology to obtain quotes and work orders from customers, ensuring seamless communication and efficient workflow.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on chute doors, discharge doors, and containers as requested by customers.
  • Assist in the installation of new chutes for general contractors, ensuring timely and accurate completion of projects.
  • Review shop inventory and report items that need to be ordered, maintaining a well-stocked and efficient workspace.
  • Maintain company vehicles as needed, ensuring they are clean, organized, and ready for use.
  • Keep accurate records of completed repairs and submit them for invoicing, ensuring timely payment and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform additional maintenance tasks as needed, including receiving shipments and loading vehicles for daily jobs.
  • Complete scenting routes and buggy retrieval routes as assigned, providing excellent customer service and ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Hands-on mechanical knowledge and aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
  • Excellent attention to detail and work ethic
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to use smartphones or tablets and other technology
  • Welding experience (preferred)
  • 2-3 years of experience as a service technician or related experience (preferred)
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and appliances (preferred)
