About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team at Iridium Satellite, LLC. As an Accounting Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a public company's accounting department, working on various projects and tasks that will help you develop your skills and knowledge in accounting.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with monthly journal entries to record financial transactions and prepare account reconciliations
  • Participate in cross-department meetings, including HR, Tax, Sales Support, and Legal
  • Assist with specialized projects and initiatives, such as inventory analysis, fixed asset reporting and analysis, expense review, and on-going statutory financial statement audit procedures
  • Participate in various internal and external financial reporting processes
  • Review intercompany balances
  • Document and review internal accounting processes and recommend changes
  • Assist with performing research on technical accounting matters, as they may arise
Requirements
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact comfortably at all levels of the organization
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve as well as think creatively
  • Strong technical skills, including a strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Must possess a strong customer service orientation with high sense of urgency in meeting goals and deadlines
Education and Experience
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or graduate degree program at an accredited academic institution, with a preference for Accounting or Finance
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Must be able to work in person
