Survey Crew Chief

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable individual to lead our survey and geospatial team in the Norfolk, VA area. As a Survey Crew Chief, you will be responsible for collecting and interpreting geospatial data to provide precision data interpretation and support our clients' success.
Responsibilities- Lead a two- or three-member crew and, in some instances, a one-person crew in conducting various survey and geospatial projects.
- Projects may include ROW surveys, utility surveys, 3D scanning, horizontal and vertical control surveys, construction layout, residential and commercial properties, topographic surveys, aerial ground control surveys, boundary and ALTA surveys.
- 10 years of field survey experience and at least 5 years of experience as a Party Chief, or equivalent knowledge.
- Strong understanding of survey and mapping specifications and standards.
- Proficient with data collectors, data collection techniques, robotic instruments, conventional field note-keeping, total stations, and leveling.
- Experience with or ability to learn the use of 3D scanners.
- Self-starter with little need for supervision once provided with a work assignment.
- Ability to work in inclement weather.
- Willingness to travel.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
