Residential Cleaning Specialist
Reports to: Executive Housekeeper
Supervises: No supervisory responsibilities
Classification: Non-Exempt
Job Purpose
The primary responsibility is to ensure all guest accommodations are impeccably maintained and cleaned.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Foster a positive workplace environment.
- Prepare and replenish Room Attendants' carts and supplies.
- Strip beds and replace linens with fresh sets.
- Dispose of waste and clean ashtrays.
- Dust and wipe down windowsills, walls, and light switches.
- Vacuum carpets and floors thoroughly.
- Dust all furniture and fixtures meticulously.
- Inspect lamps for burnt-out bulbs.
- Ensure guest information packets and service menus are present in rooms.
- Check drapes for missing hooks.
- Clean mirrors and windows.
- Verify the operation of heating and air conditioning units.
- Change mattress pads and blankets as necessary.
- Restock stationary supplies.
- Sanitize bathrooms, including toilets and sinks.
- Wash tiles, tub, and shower areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of shower curtains.
- Ensure walls, baseboards, and floors are clean.
- Restock towels, soaps, and other amenities.
- Notify when guest rooms are ready for occupancy.
- Vacuum hallways leading to guest rooms.
- Manage laundry by washing, drying, and folding linens.
- Organize and stock storage areas.
- Possess knowledge of various cleaning techniques and surface maintenance.
- Adhere to guidelines for the safe use of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Understand and execute roles during emergency situations.
- Participate in staff meetings.
- Carry out other relevant tasks as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of relevant experience is advantageous.
- No specific licenses required.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Utilize ladders as needed.
- Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens or infectious materials.
