Job Summary: The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Family Services Specialist II to join our team. As a key member of our human services team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized service plans for clients in need of support.

Key Responsibilities:

* Interpret laws, policies, and regulations related to human services program areas
* Monitor, coordinate, and administer specific programs as assigned
* Coordinate services within specific areas of responsibility
* Interview and assess client needs and other relevant factors
* Inform clients of related service programs, rules, and regulations
* Present cases to determine appropriate services and write/implement service plans
* Provide case management services to monitor compliance
* Manage program waiting lists
* Track expenditures and prepare/submits budget estimates
* Complete necessary federal, state, and local planning and reporting requirements
* Coordinate with other agencies and participate in multi-disciplinary and interagency teams
* Conduct overall monitoring of programs in specific areas of responsibility
* Serve as a resource to clients and the community in area of expertise
* Provide after-hours on-call coverage and respond to emergencies in child/adult protective services and/or foster care

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field or equivalent combination of training and experience
* Minimum of two years of experience in a Human Services area
* Possession of a BSW or MSW degree and a Commonwealth of Virginia Social Worker license are desirable
