Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at HealthPro Heritage, LLC. As a COTA, you will work under the clinical supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide direct resident care activities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy treatments to residents according to treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist the Occupational Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
  • Observe, record, and report to the therapist the conditions, reactions, and responses related to assigned duties.
  • Maintain daily records of treatments and document progress notes on residents as directed by the therapist.
  • Assist with admission screening and consulting with family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with the care of the occupational therapy department and equipment.
  • Participate in in-service programs and other meetings as assigned by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Access continuing education opportunities to maintain clinical currency.
  • Adhere to company and facility policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current license or eligible for license under statutes in the state of practice.
  • Prefer experience in a setting serving the same age/type of resident population served by this facility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow the directions of the Occupational Therapist and the policies and procedures of the facility.
Requirements
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 lbs independently.
  • Ability to push, lift, stoop, reach, and balance as required by the job.
