Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team at Healthpro Heritage, LLC. As a COTA, you will work under the clinical supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide direct resident care activities and assist with the development of treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy treatments to residents according to treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist the Occupational Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
  • Observe, record, and report to the therapist the conditions, reactions, and responses related to assigned duties.
  • Maintain daily records of treatments and document progress notes on residents as directed by the therapist.
  • Assist with admission screening and consult with family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Assist with the care of the occupational therapy department and equipment.
  • Participate in in-service programs and other meetings as assigned by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Access continuing education opportunities to maintain clinical currency.
  • Adhere to company and facility policies and procedures and participate in facility quality improvement and safety programs.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current license or eligible for license under statutes in the state of practice.
  • Prefer experience in a setting serving the same age/type of resident population served by this facility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow the directions of the Occupational Therapist and the policies and procedures of the facility.
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods, push/pull objects up to 35 lbs, lift up to 50 lbs independently, and balance while walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces.
