Job Overview

Position Summary
SmileMD is a specialized anesthesia group dedicated to serving the pediatric Medicaid demographic for dental procedures. Our mission is to provide timely care to children who would otherwise face long waiting periods for treatment in a hospital setting. Operating across multiple states, we conduct over 10,000 procedures each year, all within a dental office environment.

The PACU RN plays a vital role within our Care Team, responsible for overseeing the recovery of pediatric patients following sedation. The ideal candidate will possess experience in managing pediatric PACU cases. Our work schedules are designed for flexibility, with no Sunday or evening shifts required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver age-appropriate pediatric care throughout the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.
  • Assess patient responses to treatments and interventions.
  • Complete necessary documentation and patient charting.
  • Exhibit effective interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, families, peers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Utilize technology for tracking, documenting, and reporting patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, parents, client offices, and various healthcare providers.
  • Conduct medical reviews of patient records for clearance.
  • Travel regionally to provide patient care at onsite offices.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in the relevant state.
  • BLS Certification with the ability to obtain ACLS and PALS Certifications within the first month of employment.

Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional patient care skills.
  • Experience with pediatric PACU patients.
  • Willingness to travel within the region.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in accurately entering patient information into EMR systems.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the company credentialing process and satisfactory background check results.

Network Requirements

  • High-speed internet connection with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 5 Mbps.
