Role of the Primary Therapist

The Primary Therapist is responsible for delivering individual, group, and family therapy, as well as crisis intervention services, psychoeducational sessions, and experiential learning activities for clients and their families.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Deliver clinical services, including individual, group, and family therapy, along with process and psychoeducational groups, and crisis intervention.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments, develop treatment plans, maintain individual therapy notes, and prepare discharge summaries.
  • Collaborate closely with the treatment team, including case managers, intake coordinators, psychiatric nurse practitioners, the clinical director, and the program manager.
  • Ensure timely completion of clinical documentation in accordance with state, insurance, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in staff training and meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology.
  • Licensure as LPC, LAPC, or CADC is highly preferred.
  • Experience in treating addiction and mental health disorders.
  • Proficiency in various counseling techniques, including CBT, DBT, ACT, and Family Systems.
  • Familiarity with multiple theories and models related to addiction and mental health.
  • Knowledge of different treatment philosophies, practices, and outcomes.
  • Understanding of relapse prevention strategies throughout the continuum of care.
  • Awareness of issues affecting dually diagnosed populations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Competence in addressing gender-specific issues and diverse cultural needs in treatment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is a plus.
