Job Overview

Role of the Primary Therapist

The Primary Therapist is responsible for delivering individual, group, and family therapy, along with crisis intervention services, psychoeducational sessions, and experiential learning opportunities for clients and their families.

Core Responsibilities
  • Deliver clinical services, including individual, group, and family therapy, as well as process and psychoeducational groups, and crisis intervention.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments, develop treatment plans, maintain individual therapy notes, and prepare discharge summaries.
  • Collaborate closely with the treatment team, including case managers, intake coordinators, psychiatric nurse practitioners, the clinical director, and the program manager.
  • Ensure timely completion of clinical documentation in compliance with state, insurance, and accreditation standards.
  • Participate in staff training and meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology.
  • Licensure as LPC, LAPC, or CADC is highly preferred.
  • Experience in working with addiction and mental health disorders.
  • Proficiency in various therapeutic interventions, including CBT, DBT, ACT, and Family Systems.
  • Knowledge of diverse theories and models related to addiction and mental health.
  • Familiarity with treatment philosophies, practices, and outcomes.
  • Understanding of relapse prevention strategies throughout the continuum of care.
  • Awareness of issues faced by dually diagnosed populations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Competence in addressing gender-specific issues and cultural diversity in treatment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is a plus.
