Job Title: Direct Support Staff

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Staff at Turning Point, Inc.

Job Summary

The Direct Support Staff provides support and supervision to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and high-risk behaviors in a residential setting. The successful candidate will maintain a safe environment, ensure the Human Rights and Safety of individuals, and implement Individual Service Plans (ISP) goals and strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for individuals with disabilities
  • Assist and supervise individuals with daily living activities, including hygiene, household chores, cooking, and community activities
  • Transport individuals to medical, dental, and other appointments as assigned
  • Follow behavior plans and maintain required data collection
  • Complete documentation in a timely manner, including communication logs, shift notes, and incident reports
  • Attend team meetings and maintain current certifications, including CPR and First Aid
Requirements
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred, but not required
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently, engage in repeated stooping or bending, and go up and down stairs
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a 4-6 passenger van
