About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial and Product Counsel to join our small and collaborative legal team at Mapbox. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in advising on complex commercial and product matters, including data in-licenses, sales and partner deals, and product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on complex commercial and product matters, including data in-licenses, sales and partner deals, and product development.
  • Work closely with our product and engineering colleagues to help bring products and features alive and to our customers.
  • Develop practical and creative solutions to get deals done and advance our business.
  • Draft and communicate complex agreements and contracts.
  • Collaborate with our Lead Privacy Counsel to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of practicing attorney experience, with 2+ years at a top-tier law firm in any area and 5+ years in-house at a technology company in commercial/data/IP licensing/sales deals/product counseling.
  • Extensive experience working on complex sales deals/data in-licenses to get deals done.
  • Candidates with an engineering, computer science or other technical background will have an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write and communicate clearly and concisely.
  • A practical and customer-centric orientation and negotiation style.
