Job Summary

This is a senior-level position that requires a strong technical background in control systems and instrumentation engineering. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading projects and teams, as well as a strong understanding of stage-gated industrial projects and project management principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management
    • Develop and establish project scope, timelines, and budgets
    • Coordinate with project teams to develop project plans and deliverable lists
    • Perform detailed vendor document reviews
  • Instrumentation Engineering
    • Develop and establish instrumentation engineering standards and procedures
    • Specify and design instrumentation systems, including flow, pressure, level, and temperature measurement
    • Develop and implement control strategies and wiring for electrical motor controls
  • Team Leadership
    • Oversee and direct a small team of mid and junior level engineers and designers
    • Guide and direct design team in development of construction work packages
    • Develop and foster working relationships with vendor and client representatives
Requirements
  • Education
    • B.S. in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Control Systems Engineering
  • Experience
    • 8-25 years of professional experience within the oil and gas or related industry
  • Certifications
    • E. or Prof. Eng. in Control Systems Engineering (strongly preferred)
    • ISA or TUV certification in Functional Safety (strongly preferred)
Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Technical Skills
    • Basic working knowledge of INtools (SPI)
    • Specify custody transfer flowmeters
    • Extensive experience in front-end project development (FEL 1-2)
  • Soft Skills
    • Ability and desire to mentor young engineers and designers
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
  • Work Environment
    • Able to work in heavy industrial facilities
    • Able to climb ladders, work off elevated surfaces, and walk over uneven surfaces while wearing required PPE
  • Physical Demands
    • Able to sit/stand for long periods of time working at a computer
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
