Job Title: Continuous Improvement Project Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Continuous Improvement Project Engineer to join our team at U.S. Tsubaki Automotive, LLC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence throughout the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establish and implement lean manufacturing processes to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence
* Identify and facilitate process improvement projects, training, and workshops to drive cultural change
* Conduct root cause analysis to determine metrics, troubleshoot manufacturing and business issues, and create process documentation
* Lead, train, and coach cross-functional teams to implement improvements and embrace lean culture change
* Interface with manufacturing personnel to improve existing processes, increase safety, and solve ergonomic concerns
* Use creativity, innovative approaches, and industry-accepted methodologies to solve complex problems
* Facilitate non-technical personnel in leading Kaizen events
* Implement 5S, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, and Standard Work projects
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or 10+ years of equivalent experience
* 3-5 years of experience in lean manufacturing environment
* Lean Six Sigma Green belt preferred
* Experience with leading project teams
* Experience with Lean Systems Implementation in a manufacturing environment
* Excellent technical skills (mechanical / machining / Special Process)
* Ability to effectively manage Lean or Kaizen events and supporting resources
* Ability to influence leadership across functions, and at many levels from shop floor to conference room
* Strong analytical and coaching skills
* Goal to develop Lean experts throughout the plant
* Transparent, results-oriented, and accountable with strong customer focus
* Must be passionate about results gained the right way, through the development of people and processes
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing, transforming environment
* Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously
* Ability to read/interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
* Intermediate Microsoft Office experience with emphasis in Outlook, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
* CAD knowledge preferred
* Occasional travel, less than 10%
