Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Field Technician to join our team at QE Solar. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing ongoing field services support to our solar, battery storage, and other renewable energy systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Maintenance and Repair: Diagnose and repair system failures, identify and correct potential issues that may impact site performance, and perform regular preventative maintenance on a variety of solar, BESS, and other project equipment.
  • Site Inspections and Compliance: Conduct routine site inspections, ensure compliance with all safety requirements and safe best practices, and prepare service tickets and reports for site visits, emergency repairs, and equipment modifications.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with technical leads, project leads/managers, and third-party sub-contractors to ensure timely resolution to all required activities, and provide reports, written and oral communication in a timely and complete fashion.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe, event-free work environment through strict adherence to company and client protocols, safety procedures, and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: High School or Technical School Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 0-2+ years of specialist, technical experience with solar projects, BESS, or other renewable systems, and experience with data acquisition systems.
  • Specialized or Technical Knowledge: Inverter and/or BESS manufacturers' certifications, thermography certifications, IT/networking skills, NABCEP PV Installer Certification, OSHA 10/30 Certification, and completion of NFPA 70E courses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with 600v-1500v systems: Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and current NFPA-70e requirements.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with technology and computing programs/platforms, and experience with operations of solar sites and/or project maintenance and compliance.
