The Position

This role supports areas of field service operation within Sungrow USA related to commissioning, warranty, and operations and maintenance (O&M) of the expanding installed sites in the region. Reporting to the regional field service supervisor, this position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and commissioning support of PV inverters and ancillary equipment/systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical assignments involving the installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of string and central solar inverters and/or energy storage systems.
  • Perform general troubleshooting and diagnosis under Sungrow's maintenance and repair guidelines.
  • Support and perform pre-commissioning and commissioning of solar inverters and energy storage systems within schedule and work plans.
  • Investigate solar plant issues such as DC array grid faults, inverter design issues, and utility grid transients.
  • Provide feedback to the engineering and project team on possible mechanical and electrical design improvements.
  • Lead upgrade/rework projects in the field and interact with customers to explain the project's technical scope and manage work schedule and commitments.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in an Engineering or Computer Science Discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Renewable industry experience is desired.
  • Power Electronics experience is desired.
  • OSHA 10 certificate within 12 months of date of hire.
  • NFPA 70e certificate within 12 months of date of hire.
Competencies
  • Strong demonstration of workplace safety practices.
  • Understands and follows a Safety Plan.
  • Comprehend Job Hazard Analysis and conduct level-appropriate Job Hazard Analysis.
  • Designated as Authorized Person for LOTO.
  • Compliant with environmental safety requirements.
Travel and Work Location

80% plus travel required. Full-time position in the Twin Falls, ID area. No visa/legal sponsorship.
