Job Title: Food Server

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Food Server to join our team at Ameristar Casino Resort Spa. As a Food Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring their dining experience is memorable and enjoyable.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet and welcome each guest seated in assigned station.
  • Take food and beverage orders, deliver prepared food promptly, and check with table periodically to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain current and accurate information regarding menu (i.e., preparation techniques, seasonings, ingredients and plate presentation).
  • Suggest items to guests based on expressed guest preferences.
  • Up-sell appetizers, beverages, desserts in accordance with restaurant service standards.
  • Correctly enter food and beverage orders into the POS system to ensure accurate preparation of product.
  • Resolve service issues according to established guidelines.
  • Itemize, total, and present check for payment to correct customers.
  • Assist bus persons, as necessary, in bussing, cleaning and setting tables.
  • Wipe counter areas, sinks, and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe work station.
  • Maintain cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards.
  • Deep clean restaurant equipment (tables, chairs, booths, soda and juice dispensers, coffee machines) as scheduled, or required; operate and maintain equipment as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Complete assigned side work as directed.
  • Know and promote current casino events and programs and can give guests directions to all casino areas.
Requirements:
  • Two (2) years experience as a server in a dining establishment.
  • Food service experience.
  • Outgoing personality with interest in guest hospitality.
  • Knowledge of up selling techniques.
  • Exceptional work habits.
  • Knowledgeable of menu to include alcoholic beverages that are available.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to sustain a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with guest issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with guests at all levels.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
