About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lab Aide to support our research team at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. As a Lab Aide, you will play a critical role in assisting the Principal Investigator and lab manager with daily laboratory operations, including performing research tasks, maintaining a clean and organized laboratory area, and processing biohazardous and chemical waste.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain stock solutions, reagents, and equipment for laboratory use.
  • Assist with routine research tasks, including molecular and tissue work, under the guidance of the Principal Investigator or lab manager.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory area, including cleaning and preparing materials for cleaning, delivering materials to storage areas, and processing biohazardous and chemical waste.
  • Take weekly inventory, restock, and order supplies and reagents as needed.
  • Perform clerical duties, such as data entry and record-keeping, as required.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated interest in science and a willingness to learn.
  • Current enrollment as an undergraduate in an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Work experience in a research laboratory preferred.
  • Completion of coursework in college-level biology preferred.

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers a competitive hourly pay rate, ranging from $20.00 to $25.45, based on experience and qualifications. We also offer access to a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program, paid sick leave, and prorated paid holidays.
