Responsibilities:
  • Continuously oversee the region to guarantee adherence to all safety protocols and evaluate tasks to prioritize safety measures.
  • Examine various data sources to effectively establish priorities for the region and propose enhancements to processes.
  • Support the prioritization of work orders and requests for your region by gathering data and presenting it clearly. Collaborate with maintenance leadership on high-priority tasks.
  • Participate in planning meetings to determine the order of repairs and enhancements for the region.
  • Work with the team to conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for any downtime incidents exceeding 30 minutes or accumulating over 2 hours of downtime monthly.
  • Assist shift supervisors and management with regional needs, including safety and cleanliness, and step in as necessary.
  • Take responsibility for your region by mentoring team members while identifying areas of excellence or improvement. Inspire and encourage ongoing skill development and learning.
  • Review, revise, implement, and manage training materials, programs, and procedures, including skill-based pay.
  • Actively engage in pre-task evaluations and non-routine work within the assigned region.
  • Coordinate the collection of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, and safe work practices related to the region, ensuring they are cataloged in the maintenance management system.
  • Ensure that consumable inventories are adequately maintained in your region.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Site Leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Wood Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing within the wood products sector (OSB, MDF, or Plywood preferred).
  • Must have experience in a leadership role with direct reports and process oversight.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to foster a team environment that values respect and dignity.
  • Capability to motivate team members towards task completion while managing high-pressure situations effectively.
  • Project management expertise with a solid mechanical and electrical understanding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office, time management software, and maintenance/work order management systems.
  • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency when handling time-sensitive tasks.
  • Possess expert knowledge of woodyard machinery, such as cranes, debarkers, stranders/chippers, bin systems, and loader operations.
  • Demonstrate reliability through consistent and predictable attendance.
