About the Role

Communities In Schools of San Antonio is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Associate Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing counseling and social services to students and their families in a public-school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct intake and assessments with referred students and their parents or guardians to identify mental health or emotional needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address the needs of clients.
  • Collaborate with CIS and school staff to provide referrals and ensure new or ongoing family and basic needs are addressed.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to address mental health or emotional needs, with a focus on improving client well-being.
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies and develop aftercare plans for students and families.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
  • Current licensure through the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors or Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners.
  • Preferred experience working with at-risk populations and in cross-cultural environments.
  • Ability to articulate program goals in a public setting and operate as a team player.
