Job Summary

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor is responsible for providing mental health services to residents in a juvenile detention center. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a related field and be licensed to practice in the State of Texas. Experience working with youth and individuals with trauma, behavioral disorders, or substance abuse is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address mental health needs and promote emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Licensed Mental Health Counselor and other social service agencies to ensure quality of services.
  • Develop and implement Individual Treatment Plans (ITP) to support safe family reunification, preparation for release, or transition to an alternative living arrangement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Unrestricted LPC or LPC-Associate, LMSW, LCSW, or LMFT licensure in the State of Texas.
  • One to three years' experience in counseling, social services, or criminal justice, preferably with youth.
