The Manufacturing Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and coordinating efforts to uphold safety, production, sustainability, and quality benchmarks. This role provides guidance and management to various departments during shifts to fulfill the company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with mandatory safety protocols. Conduct safety audits and observations while seeking improvement opportunities.
  • Act as a technical resource for assigned operational areas.
  • Provide immediate assistance during process disruptions.
  • Engage in discussions regarding quality, safety, performance, staffing, and scheduling during meetings.
  • Collaborate with direct reports to address conflicts and determine when to involve leadership.
  • Work alongside the Production Manager to align departmental initiatives with operational goals and support reinforcement activities.
  • Propose ideas to expedite orders and resolve issues effectively.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for each team member.
  • Communicate relevant concerns and updates during shift changes.
  • Oversee job and item approvals as per the Quality Management System (QMS) and liaise with customers as necessary.
  • Coordinate technical training for team members on specific job tasks.
  • Provide constructive feedback to peers and team members promptly.
  • Mentor and develop individuals while respecting business needs.
  • Address daily staffing challenges as required.
  • Facilitate communication with other departments and team leaders.
  • Cross-train with fellow supervisors to serve as a resource during absences.
  • Educate teams on the daily Plan vs. Actual process during meetings.
  • Verify time and attendance daily using the Dayforce work system.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a two-year certificate from a college or technical school in Management or a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least two years of progressive experience in supervisory roles, preferably in a LEAN manufacturing environment.
