Histology Supervisor Position in North Carolina

Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Supervision:
- Oversee and mentor histotechnologists, histology technicians, and support staff, providing guidance and direction to achieve team goals.
- Schedule and assign tasks, conduct performance evaluations, and offer training and professional development opportunities to enhance staff performance.
- Quality Control and Assurance:
- Ensure high standards of quality control and quality assurance in all laboratory procedures, adhering to regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Develop, implement, and monitor protocols for tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining, maintaining the highest level of quality and accuracy.
- Operational Management:
- Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including sample accessioning, processing, and documentation, ensuring efficient and effective workflow.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including those set by OSHA, CLIA, CAP, and other relevant agencies, maintaining a culture of compliance within the laboratory.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for inspections and audits, demonstrating a strong commitment to regulatory adherence.
Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Science, with a strong foundation in histology and laboratory practices.
- ASCP certification or equivalent, demonstrating expertise and knowledge in the field of histology.
- Strong laboratory skills and attention to detail, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Histology experience, with a proven track record of success in laboratory leadership or management.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems, with the ability to integrate technology and improve workflow efficiency.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, with a strong understanding of compliance and adherence.
