About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized co-op student to join our team at Moderna in Cambridge, MA. As a co-op intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects related to the chemical biology of nucleic acids and RNA biochemistry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute experiments to study the chemical biology of RNA
  • Maintain and perform experiments with various mammalian cell lines
  • Develop and execute qPCR, click chemistry protocols, and other cell-based or in vitro assays
  • Analyze biochemical transformations of RNA by LC-MS
  • Record and communicate findings to a broader company audience
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or related science
  • Successfully completed general and organic chemistry
  • Preferred prior completion of biochemistry courses
  • Prior lab experience preferred, including mammalian cell culture
  • The candidate must be highly organized and possess a great attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to work independently and effectively in a highly dynamic environment
