Heavy Equipment Technician

The Mobile Equipment Mechanic plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of trucks and construction equipment to ensure safe operation. This includes loaders, dozers, excavators, scrapers, backhoes, articulated haul trucks, over the road company vehicles, and various support equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine inspections, document inspections and repairs, and perform scheduled maintenance.
- Track drive systems, including sprockets, rails, idlers, track adjusters, final drives, brake bands, steering clutches, and hydrostatic transmissions.
- Fabricate, modify, and install new/used equipment and replacement parts using torches, welders, plasma cutters, etc.
- Troubleshoot problems, disassemble units, repair/replace parts, and reassemble units in areas such as brakes, cooling systems, drive systems, electrical systems, exhaust and emissions systems, heating/air conditioning systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Three + years of experience with diesel trucks and various heavy equipment.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge and experience must include but not be limited to: overhauling of diesel engines, brake service and repair, proper service of equipment, electrical knowledge, and trouble shooting skills of all equipment.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Must possess the ability to solve mechanical problems quickly and independently.
- Perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies.
- The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements.
- Capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery.
- Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
