Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team at Compunnel Inc. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing intermediate-level intake and administrative services to patients being admitted to the hospital and/or treatment facility or receiving outpatient services.
Key Responsibilities:- Interviews Patients: Obtain demographic information from patients to ensure accurate registration and billing.
- Verifies Insurance Eligibility: Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorization within the required time frame to ensure reimbursement for services.
- Inputs Patient Registration Information: Accurately input patient registration information into the computer registration system and verify the accuracy of the information.
- Provides Accurate Information: Provide accurate patient, medical, financial, or procedural information to patients or approved outside entities as directed.
- Discusses Financial Arrangements: Discuss financial arrangements and issues with patients and/or family members.
- Facilitates Patient Flow: Direct patients to the correct locations, arrange patient transport, answer incoming telephone calls, and provide clerical support to facilitate patient flow.
- Maintains Patient Charts: Maintain patient charts, prepare required forms, and maintain inventory of supplies as required.
- Participates in Process Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance patient service and registration processes.
- Serves as Onboarding Resource: Serve as an onboarding resource for new patient services staff.
- Knowledge of Patient Registration Procedures: Knowledge of patient registration procedures and documentation.
- Knowledge of Medical Insurance Claims Procedures: Knowledge of medical insurance claims procedures and documentation.
