Patient Registration Specialist

Job Summary
The Patient Registration Specialist is responsible for obtaining accurate patient demographics and insurance information to ensure seamless registration and billing processes. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient interviews to gather demographic and financial data for registration and insurance verification.
- Verify patient eligibility for insurance coverage and calculate patient liability due to financial clearance policies.
- Negotiate payment arrangements with patients as needed and collect patient financial responsibilities.
- Assist patients with navigation to nursing units, providing directions and medical mobility assistance when required.
- Adhere to compliance with regard to order validations, cash policy requirements, and patient safety protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Less than 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in high-stress environments.
