Job Overview

The Spa Supervisor role is a key position within our team, responsible for assisting the Spa Guest Experience Manager with administrative and operational duties. This includes coordinating guest services, managing reservations, and ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with day-to-day operations of the spa, including managing reservations and coordinating guest services.
  2. Provide leadership and support to the management team to achieve business goals and objectives.
  3. Interact with guests to ensure optimum guest service and satisfaction.
  4. Contribute to service and facility improvements.
  5. Respond to employee and guest needs with genuine concern and a sense of urgency.
  6. Assist with resolving spa reservation software issues.
  7. Adhere to all standard policies and procedures.
  8. Promote a team-oriented atmosphere.
  9. Perform all employee and guest activities in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner.
  10. Maintain a professional relationship with employees and guests.
  11. Communicate effectively across departments and levels within the company.
  12. Maintain a cooperative attitude in working with management and employees.
  13. Assist in achieving common goals of maximizing guest satisfaction and profit margins.
  14. Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized.
  15. Utilize excellent time management and organizational skills.
  16. Attend meetings as required.
  17. Maintain a positive attitude towards co-workers, guests, and the job.
  18. Perform other job-related duties as directed.

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Be knowledgeable about spa services, prices, and facilities.
  2. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of computer programs necessary for booking and processing appointments.
  3. Promote and sell spa services and products.
  4. Ensure work areas are neat and organized.
  5. Assist in managing cash and system controls.
  6. Assist with employee relations and training.
  7. Use authority to maintain guest satisfaction.
  8. Inform managers of ways to improve the spa operation.
  9. Attend training sessions.
  10. Perform reasonable tasks assigned by a supervisor or manager.
  11. Attend staff meetings.
  12. Adhere to the philosophy of consolidation and teamwork.
  13. Clock in and out at every shift.
  14. Report maintenance problems to the proper authority.
  15. Stay current with new treatments and products.
  16. Promote self and other Spa, Hotel, and Club affiliates and services.
  17. Support fellow staff members by noticing their feelings and providing compassion.
  18. Maintain client and spa business confidentiality.
  19. Foster respect and support by motivating and practicing a hands-on supervisory style.
  20. Act as Spa Manager-on-Duty when management is off property.
  21. Able to open and close the Spa as scheduled.

Work Schedule:

  1. The Spa functions 12-16 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
  2. The Spa is open to guests from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Wednesday and from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Thursday through Sunday.
  3. Report to work on time for scheduled shifts.
  4. Weekend work schedules are a part of this position.

Prerequisites:

  1. Must speak fluent English.
  2. TABC Certification is required.
  3. Must be proficient in basic functionality of Microsoft Word and Excel and able to learn Spa Software program.
  4. 100% responsible for time management of work projects.
  5. Communicate effectively with supervisors and peers.
  6. Strong communication, organizational, and written skills.
  7. Must be able to multi-task.
  8. Pleasant, out-going personality.
  9. Must be guest-service oriented.
  10. Must be a team player and strategic thinker.
  11. Must be able to deal with people in a professional manner under pressure.
  12. Must be flexible in work scheduling.
  13. Must be able to perform some strenuous physical labor.
  14. Confidentiality with co-workers and clients regarding in-house practices is a must.
  15. Professional appearance.
  16. Must be dignified and treat people with courtesy and respect.

Safety Awareness:

  1. Attend all Houstonian training classes offered upon hire.
  2. Follow all aspects of job safety.
  3. Understand that the job may require bending, stooping, and lifting of materials up to 20 pounds.

When hired by the Spa at The Houstonian and upon completion of a training program, you will join a select group of professional men and women who are dedicated to providing the finest service in the spa industry. You may be required to work weekends, holidays, and irregular hours. You will be confronted with a great variety of people with an equal variety of needs. You will have to think on your feet, keep smiling, and make sure our guests want to return to the Spa at The Houstonian. Most importantly, adapt to the theory of 'If it is not in my job description, it does not mean I am not responsible for it.'

Please be available to work a varied schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
