Job Overview:

The NYC Department for the Aging is seeking a Workforce Engagement Coordinator to join their team. This role will work in the Office of Human Resources Training & Professional Development unit, reporting to the Director of Learning & Professional Development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer trainings for agency-wide initiatives, ensuring effective communication and participation.
  • Liaise with vendors and partners related to professional development trainings, fostering strong relationships and collaboration.
  • Coordinate training projects, promote upskilling opportunities, and track agency participation and compliance.
  • Obtain and report employee feedback, identifying skills gaps through research and surveys.
  • Perform related duties as needed, contributing to the success of the team.

Requirements:

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community-centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in '1' above.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent public speaking and communication skills, with the ability to present effectively in various settings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with City government preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders, fostering a collaborative work environment.
