About the Role

We're seeking an experienced security engineer to join our infrastructure security engineering team with a strong focus on detection and response. As a key member of our team, you'll leverage your threat detection and response expertise to build foundational systems and services that safeguard our infrastructure from malicious actors and threats. You'll collaborate closely with engineering teams, IT administrators, and compliance analysts to ensure visibility into our environments and develop effective programs and practices to maintain security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to establish pipelines for gathering relevant security telemetry.
  • Design and maintain a scalable security monitoring infrastructure solution.
  • Develop detection strategies to identify anomalous activity and ensure safe operation of critical infrastructure and services.
  • Triage alerts and drive security incidents to closure while minimizing potential impact.
  • BUILD processes and workflows to triage security alerts and respond to real incidents.
  • Stay abreast of emerging threat attack vectors and ensure our detection and response capability aligns with the current threat landscape.
  • Proactively enhance the quality of our detection rules and work with engineering teams to eliminate classes of issues.
  • Contribute to strategy, risk management, and prioritization for efforts around detection and response.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Strong domain knowledge in security incident detection and response.
  • Hands-on experience in instrumenting and deploying telemetry solutions for large-scale deployments.
  • Demonstrated experience with effective incident response and containment practices, preferably in a cloud-first environment.
  • Experience with logging and security event management using open-source or commercial solutions.
  • Decision-maker with autonomy.
  • Experience working with distributed teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and workload.
  • Scripting or coding fluency in an interpreted language.
  • Serverless deployment experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure (a plus).

Estimated Salary Range: $139,230 - $163,620
