Senior Project Engineer

Join Bal Seal Engineering, a leading manufacturer of seals, springs, and connectors, as a Senior Project Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, refining, and maintaining our products, as well as managing projects associated with customer inquiries.
About the Role:- Execute design activities in accordance with established design policies and procedures.
- Create custom seal designs that meet customer and industry expectations with high-quality solutions.
- Specify material and test requirements that allow consistent performance for meeting customer expectations.
- Prepare proposals based on application data provided by the sales department and/or the customer.
- Work with product engineers to identify standard designs best suited for adaptation, and identify improvements or adaptations in accordance with design policies and procedures and establishing material and test requirements for those designs.
- Travel internationally on short notice, with typical travel time away being one work week or less.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of engineering design experience, preferably in the component realm.
- Seal design experience.
- Medical device design, oil & gas, aerospace/defense, and industrial experience preferred.
- Project/Product Engineering experience.
- R & D Engineering experience.
- Application Engineer experience.
- Strong computer skills, including Agile, JD Edwards (E-1), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- FEA modeling (via Solid Works) preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels, from C-Suite to factory floor.
- Familiarity with customer NRE negotiation & management a plus.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams to peers so as to manage projects to a successful conclusion.
- Ability to operate in a deadline-driven, dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate cross-culturally.
