Product Development Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new product designs, ensuring they meet our high standards for quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development from concept to launch.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders, including department managers and team members.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in product development, preferably in the eyewear industry.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, such as Solidworks or ProE, and experience with injection-molded component design and processing.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in consumer hard goods development and manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen, DMAIC, VSM, 6 sigma, and SMED.
  • Hands-on experience with metal fabrication, prototyping, 3D printing, or machine shop experience.
  • PMP certification and experience with SAP.
