Job Title: Assistant General Manager

Reports to: General Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary: The Assistant General Manager oversees the quality and success of Goldfish Swim School daily operations, including staffing, pool operations, cash management, customer service, retail, and vending departments. This role is responsible for directing and controlling daily operations to ensure the school runs according to GSS standard operating procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs and controls daily operations to ensure the school runs according to GSS standard operating procedures.
  • Assists General Manager and department managers with fulfilling daily tasks.
  • Manages staff to ensure high productivity, excellent performance, and positive employee satisfaction.
  • Trains and oversees aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction to students.
  • Provides sales and marketing training to qualified sales staff.
  • Provides direction in retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing.
  • Trains and oversees private party staff to maintain GSS standard operating procedures.
  • Initiates and oversees workplace employee activities to achieve improved employee satisfaction.
  • Maintains current certifications and stays up-to-date professionally on aquatics and management fields.
  • Fulfills other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Employer.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider required.
  • Two or more years of management experience preferred. Two or more years as a swimming instructor preferred.

Certificates and Licenses: Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and first aid certification required. Shallow water attendant highly recommended.

Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
