Position Overview:

The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the hotel during the overnight shift. This position involves both accounting responsibilities and front desk operations, typically working from late evening to early morning hours. Key responsibilities include:
  • Performing detailed computer-based accounting tasks.
  • Identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial records.
  • Providing excellent customer service by checking guests in and out.
  • Handling reservations via phone and in-person.
  • Managing multi-line phone systems and operating a POS terminal.
  • Processing cash transactions and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.
  • Issuing keys and equipment to guests and staff.
  • Assisting guests with navigating hotel amenities.
  • Upholding guest satisfaction as a top priority.
As the sole staff member on duty during late hours, the Night Auditor must be well-versed in emergency protocols and McMenamins' crisis management policies. This role requires a proactive, self-directed individual who can prioritize tasks effectively while remaining alert throughout the shift. A commitment to exceptional customer service is essential, whether interacting face-to-face, over the phone, or through other communication channels.

Job Requirements:
  • Prior experience in night auditing, hospitality, or accounting is essential.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Strong attention to detail is crucial.
  • Ability to resolve routine issues promptly while adhering to company policies.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Capability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient cash handling and accounting skills.
  • Comfortable with computer systems and software.
  • Availability for flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Essential Duties:

  • Accurate and timely completion of nightly financial reconciliations.
