Job Summary

The UAS Acquisition Specialist will work closely with the executive, management, production, and sales teams on a day-to-day basis. This position will be responsible for piloting and safety, as well as supporting the development and implementation of new cutting-edge remote sensing technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety and Operations
    • Safely operate UAS in accordance with FAA Part 107 regulations, local laws and ordinances as applicable.
  • LiDAR and Camera Operations
    • Conduct LiDAR and camera unit calibrations by planning, flying, and conducting calibration flights.
  • Training and Development
    • Develop, plan, and deliver professional RPA/UAS pilot training and LiDAR data acquisition.
  • Data Collection and Analysis
    • Plan and execute remote sensing data collection flights based on client requirements and system configurations.
  • Standard Operating Procedures
    • Support the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Travel and Collaboration
    • Be willing and able to travel regularly to client sites both domestically and internationally.
  • Technical Support
    • Actively engage with engineers to optimize LiDAR systems and acquisition procedures.
  • Documentation and Quality Assurance
    • Continually develop operations manuals and supporting documentation necessary to operate Phoenix LiDAR Systems.
  • Testing and Evaluation
    • Perform tests, conduct measurements, and update control systems.
  • Software Feedback
    • Provide feedback on acquisition software.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Current 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
    • Driver's License and clean driving record
    • 2-4 years of commercial UAS/RPA experience
    • Travel required 25-50%
    • Experience with LiDAR data collection
