Position Overview

The Director of Medical Affairs is a pivotal role within our organization, reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer. This position is primarily focused on the evaluation and management of immune and infectious diseases. The Director will provide essential medical and scientific guidance for our company's programs at various stages of clinical development, as well as for products that have received approval globally.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Facilitate the planning and execution of Clinical Development studies, ensuring compliance with quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  2. Support clinical studies initiated by investigators.
  3. Deliver high-quality medical insights to cross-functional teams within the organization.
  4. Organize and conduct advisory board and steering committee meetings.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues across different regions to define and implement regional strategies aligned with corporate goals.
  6. Provide expert clinical input for disease-specific strategy plans, publications, educational materials, study protocols, and medical information communications.
  7. Recruit and oversee the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team.
  8. Monitor Medical Affairs activities and performance metrics against established goals and budgets.
  9. Conduct ongoing literature research and analysis to support strategic initiatives and identify new scientific opportunities.
  10. Work closely with Marketing and Business Development to create a timely publication strategy.
  11. Engage with key stakeholders as a therapeutic area expert, including thought leaders and policy makers.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. An MD with a postgraduate specialization in Infectious Diseases or Immunology.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of industry experience is strongly preferred.
  3. Experience in conducting clinical trials is advantageous.
  4. Strong skills in data analysis and interpretation.
  5. Excellent analytical capabilities and the ability to translate medical strategies into actionable plans.
  6. Proven leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams.
  7. Outstanding oral and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and present to diverse audiences.
  8. A customer-focused approach and established credibility with stakeholders.
  9. Cultural sensitivity and international experience, with proficiency in multiple languages being a plus.
  10. Willingness to travel approximately 25-33% of the time.
