Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Village Dermatology, a Forefront Dermatology practice. This is a part-time opportunity, working 3 days a week, with a schedule that includes Monday and Tuesday, and alternating Thursday and Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform opening and closing clinic duties, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Greet patients, check them in for appointments, and verify their insurance information.
  • Scan documents into the electronic health record, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information.
  • Ensure the waiting area and reception counter are tidy and well-maintained throughout the day.
  • Check schedules for added, canceled, or no-show appointments, and schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
  • Respond to designated tasks in the electronic health record, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Order clinic office supplies, sell and track cosmetic products, and distribute mail.
  • Prepare for next-day scheduled appointments, ensuring a seamless transition.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-2 years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred.
  • Proficient in basic computer functions, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, type a minimum of 40 wpm, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback and direction from supervisors.
  • Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, and be compassionate and caring in dealing with others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
