We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Rhode Island Hospital. As a Dialysis Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals undergoing dialysis treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and identify patient needs for each dialysis session, utilizing advanced assessment skills.
- Develop individualized plans of care for specific dialysis sessions, establishing interventions and patient outcomes in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare team members.
- Implement plans of care, including initiating and discontinuing dialysis according to proper procedure, clinical observation, and equipment monitoring.
- Document nursing actions and make adjustments based on evaluation.
- Provide leadership by delegating, supervising, and participating in safe nursing care activities provided by LPNs and Patient Care Technicians.
- Evaluate effectiveness of patient care and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assess and provide appropriate teaching based on patient and family needs.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or licensure in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement.
- Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.
- Certified Nephrology Nursing Certification preferred.
- Minimum of 12 months of nursing experience and an additional 3 months of specialized dialysis experience.
This role requires visual and aural ability to monitor patient status, physical ability to assist in lifting and positioning patients, and exposure to a patient care environment.
