Job Summary

As a Dialysis Nurse Specialist at Brown University Health, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals undergoing dialysis treatment. This position requires a strong foundation in nursing principles, with a focus on delivering evidence-based care and promoting patient-centered outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and identify patient needs, developing individualized plans of care that address their unique requirements.
  • Implement and evaluate patient care plans, ensuring that interventions are aligned with established policies and procedures.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting self-management and empowerment.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or participation in the Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or related field, with a focus on nephrology or dialysis care.
  • Minimum 12 months of nursing experience, with an additional 3 months of specialized dialysis experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Visual and aural ability to monitor patient status.
  • Physical ability to assist in lifting and positioning patients.
  • Exposed to patient care environment.
  • Physical ability for extensive walking and standing; lifting positioning and pushing patients on stretchers.
