Position Overview:

As a Student Success Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in fostering partnerships and cultivating meaningful relationships that empower students to realize their academic and career aspirations. This position is dedicated to providing comprehensive support to ensure student achievement, retention, and successful program completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison for students entering designated programs, establishing rapport and assisting in the formulation of educational and career objectives.
  • Engage in proactive advising to identify students who may benefit from additional support, monitoring their academic performance to facilitate timely interventions.
  • Implement innovative case management strategies from program acceptance through to graduation, ensuring students receive accurate information regarding their academic journey.
  • Develop tailored action plans to guide students through their curriculum, addressing external credentialing requirements and career goals.
  • Evaluate student motivation concerning their program choices and refer them to appropriate resources when necessary.
  • Maintain an active presence within the institution, engaging with students, faculty, and staff to foster a supportive community.
  • Stay informed about institutional resources and academic requirements to assist in creating effective student success plans.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless transitions to academic and non-academic support services.
  • Work closely with faculty to identify at-risk students and develop strategies to enhance retention.
  • Support students in navigating academic policies and procedures, including appeals processes.
  • Reach out to students who have not re-enrolled to encourage retention and completion.
  • Participate in professional development and institutional committees as required.
  • Assist in organizing events that promote student engagement and success.
  • Coordinate advising efforts for students at regional campuses in collaboration with other staff.
  • Document student interactions accurately and maintain comprehensive records for tracking and accountability.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in education or a related field, with a preference for those with three years of relevant experience in higher education.

Experience:

  • Experience in academic advising, career planning, and placement services.
  • Familiarity with college admissions, financial aid, and transfer processes.
  • Proficiency in current technologies and software applications.
  • Ability to organize and implement educational workshops and campus events.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Successful candidates will demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective customer service skills. Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and maintaining organized documentation is essential.

Work Environment:

This position primarily involves indoor office work, with occasional interactions that may require handling challenging situations.
