EVONA is a pioneering, employee-owned launch enterprise located in Brunswick, Maine, dedicated to advancing innovative space propulsion technologies tailored for the small satellite and cubesat sectors.
With robust support from both governmental entities and private investors, our company is experiencing significant growth and success.
Position Overview:
We are in search of a Senior Technician proficient in manufacturing and fabrication to collaborate with our engineering team on our cutting-edge launch vehicle. This position requires a highly skilled, innovative, and proactive leader capable of managing our assembly facility, guiding a team, and ensuring that project timelines, safety protocols, and specifications are adhered to with the utmost precision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee the assembly and fabrication processes of flight vehicles and associated components.
- Manage static engine testing, vehicle launch operations, and telemetry/avionics integration.
- Develop and enhance manufacturing protocols to improve efficiency and safety.
- Supervise and mentor team members in advanced assembly techniques and the operation of specialized machinery.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate project completion by collaborating with engineering teams to refine designs and address complex technical challenges.
- Create and uphold a stringent maintenance schedule for all manufacturing equipment.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and company standards concerning safety and quality.
Position Requirements:
- Prioritize safety above all, with the ability to achieve objectives without compromising safety standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for regular testing and launch operations.
- Comfortable working outdoors, including in forests, on boats, or in workshops.
- Willingness to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme environments with exposure to hazardous materials.
- Strong documentation skills, particularly related to processes and quality control.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Minimum requirement of a High School Diploma or GED.
Essential Technical Skills / Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or a closely related field.
- Comprehensive understanding of complex assembly operations with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Must be a lawful U.S. Person (per ITAR and 8.U.S.C.1324b(a)(3)).
- Proficient in interpreting engineering design data, including drawings, CAD models, and regulatory specifications such as ASME Y15.4 & AWS D1.1.
- Expertise in at least one of the following manufacturing processes: welding, CNC machining, or composites layup.
Preferred Skills / Experience:
- Expertise in GD&T.
- Experience with Metal and Polymer 3D printing.
- Background in rocket hardware manufacturing and assembly, particularly for liquid or hybrid systems.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly compensation range: $30-$50.
