Job Title: Care Team Supervisor - Security

Job Summary:

The Care Team Supervisor - Security will oversee the Care Team/Security team to ensure a safe, supportive, and secure environment for all clients, associates, and visitors. This position will work collaboratively as part of the overall patient care team with a focus on client care and support, as well as de-escalation in times of crisis.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, train, and develop Care Team staff to foster a safe, secure, and cohesive environment.
  2. Conduct frequent tours and inspections of the facility to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  3. Oversee the maintenance of security cameras and review security tapes as needed.
  4. Develop staff work schedules to ensure seamless 24-hour coverage and operational continuity.
  5. Manage employee timecards and maintain accurate records of work hours.
  6. Complete timely staff evaluations and provide constructive feedback for professional development.
  7. Conduct interviews, initiate hiring procedures, and execute disciplinary actions as needed.
  8. Provide comprehensive training for Care Team staff and ensure they are well-versed in their job duties and functions.
  9. Collaborate with the Program Director to contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and training programs.
  10. Assist the team in addressing safety matters and contribute to a culture of proactive risk management and prevention.
  11. Uphold a harm reduction and trauma-informed philosophy and support staff in implementing these approaches.
  12. Conduct investigations and complete written reports for any incidents or unusual activities.
  13. Ensure maintenance of accurate logs and document all relevant activities during each shift.
  14. Respond promptly to emergency codes and manage assistance and control according to established protocols.
  15. Collaborate with partners, including CNAs, to support and enhance client health and safety.
  16. Actively contribute to promoting patient safety and environmental cleanliness within the facility.
  17. Escort clients to on-site appointments and the pharmacy as needed.
  18. Conduct hourly rounds and end-of-shift rounds with oncoming staff to promote effective communication and continuity of care.
  19. Notify Case Management and Social Services of any client noncompliance or challenging behavioral issues.
  20. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  21. Participate in organizational programs and committees as assigned.
  22. Demonstrate courtesy, respect, and compassion in dealing with staff and patients.

Requirements:

  1. High School diploma or equivalence (GED certificate).
  2. California Guard Card is preferred.
  3. Proven experience in security or care team-related roles, with a minimum of 1-2 years in a supervisory managerial or lead capacity.
  4. Minimum two years of experience in a healthcare setting working in any capacity.
  5. Comprehensive understanding of security operations, risk management, and emergency response procedures.
  6. Current BLS Certificate from the American Heart Association.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  8. Experience in working with clients and staff from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
  9. Ability to establish rapport with clients that conveys genuine concern for their well-being and needs.
  10. May be required to lift at least 25-50lbs.
  11. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
