Job Title: Field Support Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Support Engineer to join our team at Syntricate Technologies Inc. As a Field Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services to our clients' network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to data center safety protocols and follow policies, practices, procedures, and standards relative to assignments.
  • Travel to different locations to install, uninstall, and troubleshoot network devices.
  • Coordinate with data center cable management teams to resolve connectivity issues.
  • Install and uninstall network router firewalls and provide console access to remote network engineers for configuration.
  • Experience in cabling network devices and powering up devices.
  • Work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed, and travel frequently to support data center operations and installation/uninstallation of network equipment.
  • Provide remote hands support to customers or remote technical teams, performing tasks such as server reboots, cable swaps, and hardware installation/uninstallation based on predefined procedures and instructions.
  • Manage power distribution units (PDUs), power cables, and environmental monitoring devices to ensure proper power and cooling within the data center.
  • Rack and stack equipment according to data center standards, ensuring proper cable management and airflow to maintain optimal operating conditions.
  • Provide on-site support for client networks.
  • Test, document, set up, and install network hardware.
  • Manage technical functions, test equipment, handle repairs, and conduct site inspections.
  • Data deletion and sanitization and e-recycling of network devices.
  • Firewall administration and security management.
Requirements:
  • 8-10 years of experience in network infrastructure support.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Availability to work non-standard hours and travel frequently to support data center operations and installation/uninstallation of network equipment.
  • Understanding of network device console access process and data deletion and sanitization and e-recycling of network devices.
