Job Title: Patient Access Representative

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at OrthoNY. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience from the moment they arrive at our office.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare appointments for the following day, ensuring accuracy of data and completeness of required fields and forms.
  • Greet patients promptly and professionally, answering incoming phone calls and reviewing necessary data/forms with patients to ensure accurate and complete records.
  • Collect copayments and balances, performing responsibilities within OrthoNY's practice management system in a standard manner.
  • Work and communicate with other departments as needed to ensure timely and accurate processing of patient information and throughput to the clinic.
  • Reconcile daily payments received with the system batch, ensuring proper accounting for all payments taken and accurately compiling reports.
  • Review patient follow-up requirements on check out, making any necessary follow-up appointments and following proper protocols for any tests needing to be scheduled.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards, as well as maintain a neat and organized workspace and restock supplies as needed.
  • Travel to other offices as needed for coverage and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; some higher education preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical insurances preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills required.
  • Experience working with an EMR/PM required.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Quick thinker with ability to pivot in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment is a must.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle for needed travel.

Additional Information:

Ability to travel to various OrthoNY locations if needed. Reliable transportation is essential.
