Job Overview

Pacific Coast Producers (PCP), a prominent agricultural cooperative with food processing facilities along the West Coast, is seeking a proficient and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to contribute to our operations. The production facility employs advanced technology to transform various fruits into premium products. This role is part of a seniority-based collective bargaining unit and may involve working on different shifts, with opportunities for significant overtime during peak processing periods.

Compensation: $36.84 per hour. Full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek, including potential weekend and overtime hours as necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess the condition of all industrial production machinery.
  • Execute installation, troubleshooting, and repairs on production equipment and general facilities.
  • Interpret and implement technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Fabricate components for plant machinery, including cutting, forming, and assembling parts.
  • Assist electrical teams in the installation, repair, and replacement of equipment.
  • Conduct arc and gas welding on various metals.
  • Maintain heating systems, ventilation, boilers, and other essential equipment.
  • Service and repair forklifts and semi-trucks.
  • Perform general carpentry, plumbing, and pipefitting tasks.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a relevant educational program or degree, or equivalent work experience, along with formal training in the field; a fundamental mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Dependable with a strong attendance record.
  • At least 5 years of significant industrial experience.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with colleagues and internal stakeholders.
  • Possession of personal hand tools is necessary.
  • Certification to operate a lift truck or the ability to obtain such certification.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
